It is set up with a covered work area over the alley and cat-walk, squeeze chute, and scales, to make it easier on the cowboy and cattle alike.
The ranch is a combination of improved pastures, native grasslands, wetlands, and for the first time in 9 years, 1300 acres has been enhanced again for rice farming. This property has the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority canal system running throughout the ranch. This canal system gives the ranch owner the ability to purchase water to flood irrigate a majority of the property as needed.
The GBRA canals provides a vast amount of fresh water for filling stock tanks, watering cattle, and irrigating native pasture and the improved Jigs hay fields.
